Receiving coverage
A working approach for planning people around inbound deliveries.
Start with arrivals
Review the receiving window, expected delivery pattern and unloading responsibilities. Identify where a delay affects the next activity. The assignment brief should explain the real sequence of work.
Match the task
Separate unloading, checking, labelling and put-away responsibilities. Describe relevant equipment and the authorization required to use it. Confirm who provides the site-specific orientation.
Keep the handover clear
Agree the reporting point and the process for damaged or unmatched goods. A staffing plan should make exceptions easier to route to the right person, not require a new worker to guess.
