Shift planning

Prepare a staffing request around the hours and coverage the operation actually needs.

Set the coverage

List the days, start and finish times, breaks and expected assignment duration. Consider the work that happens before a dispatch deadline and after a delivery arrives. Distinguish regular coverage from a short period of additional demand.

Confirm availability

Discuss location and transport expectations before confirming an assignment. Make overtime expectations and changes in start times explicit. Availability is useful only when the candidate understands the complete schedule.

Review the pattern

Track the reasons for recurring schedule changes. A pattern of late requests may indicate an opportunity to improve the planning cycle. Review the next period with the site contact rather than relying only on the previous roster.
